Excerpt from Life Story / Obituary
https://heritagelifestory.com/obituaries/rob-gage-n8wkn.137255
"Electronics always interested Rob. He worked for eighteen years for T&W Electronics in Grand Rapids. Rob enjoyed reading technical publications that helped him learn about topics that interested him. As an adult he was a Calvinist Cadet Corps Counselor, a DeColores and Deco-Tec Ministries leader and board member, and a Skywarn National Weather Service member. Rob also volunteered with the Grand Rapids Amateur Radio Association (his call sign was N8WKN), and for the Grand Rapids Riverbank Run."

LUNCH BUNCH EVERY FRIDAY at Creekside County Park to the end of October when the park goes into "hibernation" (thier words). Bring your own lunch or snack and libation (coffee, tea, pop, etc.) Brown bag it or take out. Plenty of room under the open air covered pavilion shelter. Usual time, 11:30AM or whenever you get there, stay until you’re ready to leave.
Creekside County Park, 1035 68th St St SE, about a mile from the Bob Evans restaurant where we were, and expect to return to by fall. The park is between Kalamazoo Ave SE just south of Hwy M6 exit 11, and Hwy US131 exit 76. Enter Creekside Park north off of 68th st, proceed to the covered pavilion.Rest rooms are open.

Lunch Bunch is open to all hams, aspiring hams, inquisitive non-hams, etc. We don't care, regardless of any, or no, club affiliation. It’s a Beer & Bull session, without the Beer. We’ll talk about radio and most any other subject that comes up.
Who sponsors this? NOBODY! It's just a gathering of hams, and there's always room for you. Inquires to Jack ny8d at arrl.net Cell: 616-438-1464. Heck, just show up!

MICHIGAN AMATEUR RADIO ALLIANCE SATURDAY BREAKFAST IS BACK!
Members and friends of MARA regularly gather on Saturday mornings for breakfast. This has been well attended for years, and is a favorite time to gather outside of the formal monthly meetings and other events. We gather by 8:00 in the morning, at New Beginnings, 5200 Northland Dr NE, Grand Rapids (where Plainfield and E Beltline meet). Map: https://goo.gl/maps/8N9biJQ8MkXYX61P9
When attendance is predicted to be low, an email is sent to probable attendees that the gathering will be postponed. Unless an email is sent, it is assumed that breakfast is still on. If you would like to be in the breakfast loop, please email our Webmaster. This gathering is open to anyone wishing to join us for good food and good conversation. The email is not required, but will assure that if we are not gathering, that all are aware.

General in a Day, Kinda ~ Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021
The Holland ARC will hold a “General Class in a Day, Kinda” class at the Chick-Owa Sportsman’s Club, 9279 E. Ottogan Street, Holland. It will follow the technician class process in that on that Saturday there will be a 5 hour memory retention study hall. Please understand that no theory will be taught. These 5 hours will be you reviewing the approximately 440 questions used in the general class pool.
Registration is now open, and registration and required. Registration closes October 22. This class is limited to the first twenty people, and the cost is $10.00.
Once you register, you will get an email every week reinforcing what you should be studying. That word “kinda” in the title? Your part of the deal is to spend about 30 minutes a day for 21 days studying the materials we recommend – that’s the “kinda”. You will then have the 5 hour study hall to finish your studying and review.
The “General in a Day, Kinda” study session will begin at 1:00 on November 13, and at 6:00 we will start the exam session. For more information or to register, please go to https://tinyurl.com/harcgiad.
