OPERATE FROM A WARSHIP. We have been invited to work Museum Ships Weekend on the USS Silversides (N8SUB) and the LST 393 (N8LST) in Muskegon on Saturday & Sunday, June 1st & 2nd. Right now they need folks Sunday afternoon on the Silversides and Saturday and Sunday on the LST 393.
I know this is short notice but as it sounds right now, if we dont bring a crew to the LST, then it won't go on the air this year. They do have a small crew working the Silversides.
It looks like we will be operating on the LST 393 from noon to 10pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday. The Silversides we can operate from noon to 6pm on Sunday. End times on both ships are approximate as we may be able to operate later if the museums allow.
We have been asked to dress nice as we will be representing the ships as well as our club. The ships will be open for touring.
So if you can go or you would like more information, send a text to Phil (W8PDH) at 616-217-6427 or Email philholscher at gmail.com
